Anivara Asthanam at TTD Temples – July 16, 2025
The sacred festival of Anivara
Asthanam will be celebrated with traditional fervor on July 16 at
both Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple and Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple
in Tirupati.
This ancient ceremony,
observed on the last day of the Tamil month Ani, marks the ceremonial
offering of accounts and heralds the new administrative cycle. Historically
linked to the assumption of responsibilities by Mahants, it now follows the TTD
fiscal calendar from April to March.
At Sri Govindaraja
Swamy Temple, the Asthanam will be held from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at
the Bangaru Vakili with processional deities—Sri Govindaraja Swamy,
Sridevi, and Bhudevi. New garments from Pundarikavalli Ammavari Temple
will be ceremonially presented.
At Sri Kodanda Rama
Swamy Temple, the event will occur from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM,
featuring processional deities—Sri Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana—receiving new
garments as part of the ritual.
The ceremonies will be graced by Tirumala Jeeyar Swamijis and senior temple officials.
