Gayatri Japam 2025 will be observed on Saturday, August 9, the day following Avani Avittam (Upakarma). This sacred occasion is especially significant for Brahmins across South India, who perform Gayatri Mantra chanting as part of their spiritual renewal and purification rituals.

Ritual Highlights

  • Chanting the Gayatri Mantra 108 or 1008 times with deep concentration and devotion
  • Performed by Yajur, Rig, and Sama Vedi Brahmins after Upakarma
  • Observed during Brahma Muhurta (early morning hours), ideally between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM
  • Considered a day of spiritual cleansing, mental clarity, and divine connection
