Jyestabhishekam at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati (July 06–08)

 

The sacred Jyestabhishekam festival will be observed at the historic Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati from July 06 to 08, celebrating divine grace through Vedic rituals and processions.

Festival Schedule Highlights

July 06 – Day 1: Purification and Homam

  • Sata Kalasha Snapanam: Sacred bathing ritual with 100 kalashas (pots) of sanctified water.
  • Maha Shanti Homam: Fire ritual for universal peace and spiritual cleansing.
  • Snapana Tirumanjanam: Holy bathing ceremony for the deities with aromatic substances.

July 07 – Day 2: Rituals and Procession

  • Sattumurai: Vedic recitations and concluding rituals.
  • Asthanam: Royal court-style ceremonial worship.
  • Evening Procession: Procession of Sri Govindaraja Swamy with Ubhaya Nachiyars (consorts) through the temple streets.

July 08 – Day 3: Kavacha Pratishtha and Farewell Procession

  • Tirumanjanam: Sacred bathing of the deities.
  • Kavacha Pratishtha: Installation of divine armors (Kavachams) on the deities.
  • Kavacha Samarpana: Offering of the newly adorned Kavachams.
  • Evening Procession: Final procession from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, marking the culmination of the festival.
